I have just installed a new XP-GT/ XP-GTR controller but it shown down in Device List (Lock is not respond – Uplink failed)

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-GT/ XP-GTR where the door lock is not responding (Uplink Failed) and the controller status shown "Down" from the Device List.

Applies To:

  • XP-GT1200L, XP-GT3200L, XP-GT1200LABX, XP-GT3200LABX, XP-GT3200LE, XP-GT3200LCPX, XP-GT500LE
  • Software xPortal2005 v1.2 and above, xPortal2007, xPortalNet, xPortal3000     
 Problem
 

› No communication between software and controller.   

 Symptoms
 

 Uplink icon small is not indicated on controller’s screen.
 No transaction update in the software Latest Event List.
 XP-GT/ GTR setting does not updated when download setting to XP-GT/ GTR.
 Software Delivery Report shows sent "Error" when download setting or update card user info to the XP-GT/ GTR.
 The controller status shown down at the software after configure network setting, but got pinging reply at the command prompt window.
    

 Cause (optional)
 

Connection Settings:

 Controller is not connected to a network switches/ router using a network cable.
 Network router/ switches has not powered up.
 Network cable in used is not working and not in a good condition.

Network Settings:

 Dynamic IP Address is used for the Server PC’s IP Address.
 IP Address conflict.
 Incorrect network configurations was set in the Network Parameters in the controller.
 Incorrect Remote IP Address/ Controller Model No/ Door Unit No was set in the software server.
 Blocked by firewall.

 Resolution Summary
 

Connection Settings:

 Connect the controller to a network switches/ router using a network cable.
 Powered up the network router/ switches.
 Network cable in used is working and in a good condition.

Network Settings:

 The Server PC’s IP Address must be static/ fixed IP.
 The IP Address assign for the controller is not in used by other device.
 The Network Parameters in the controller is correctly configured.
 The Connection, Controller and Door configuration set in the software server is correct.
 Allow through firewall for the communication between software and controller.

 Resolution
 
Perform steps below to solve the issue.


Please check the Uplink Communication icon small on the LCD of the controller. If uplink communication icon is:

  1. Present but does not blink, check the controller's model no. & unit no. configured in the software is correct.

  2. Not present, proceed to check on connection to PC.

Check the MCI
 
is working fine.

  1. Check the connection from the MCI to the controller is correct.
  2. Check the MCI is powered on.
  3. Check the MCI is connected to the Server PC.
  4. Check the Baud Rate setting on MCI and Connection Setup is similar.

If the application is blocked by the firewall, please configure to allow access through it.

  1. Please allow the application through firewall.
