Why the EM Lock always in disengage condition? Using XP-SK32 reader

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-SK32 door always in release condition.

Applies To:

 Problem
 

Security ON but door always release.              

         
 Symptoms
 
 The EM Lock always in disengage condition when security mode is ON. 

         
 Cause (optional)
 

 Security OFF mode.
› EM Lock faulty.
 Reader faulty.
 Power supply to XP-SK32  is low.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

Resolution 1:
› Make sure the wiring connection is correct.

Resolution 2:
› Make sure the reader is not in the Programming Mode.

Resolution 3:
› Make sure Security ON is enabled. 

Resolution 4:
› Make sure AutoPIN function is enabled.

Resolution 5:
› Make sure the power supplied to the reader is enough.

         
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps below in order to resolve your issue.

Resolution 1: 

  1. Please make sure the wiring connection is correct. 
  2. Please ensure the wiring connection from EM Lock to the controller is correct. 
    1. See AA-00243 to learn how to check the wiring connection.
    2. If problem persist, please test with another functional EM Lock.



Resolution 2:

  1. Make sure the reader is not in the Programming Mode.
  2. Please ensure the Green LED is turn off.
    1. If Green LED is turn on, perform Resolution 3 below.




Resolution 3:

  1. In Security OFF mode, the Green LED will be always ON.
  2. To set Security ON mode, enter to Programming Mode.
    • Press "62" and press "1" to turn on security mode.
    • Press "#" to confirm and exit from Programming Mode.
    • In Security ON mode, the Green LED will be OFF.



Resolution 4:

  1. If the reader does not have any respond with beep sound after enter the 4 digit AutoPIN number, please perform steps below.
  2. The AutoPIN function is disabled. 
    • To turn on/ enable the AutoPIN function, enter to Programming Mode.
    • Press "61" and press "1" to turn on the AutoPIN mode.
    • Press "#" to confirm and exit from Programming Mode.



Resolution 5:

  1. Make sure the power supplied to the XP-SK32 is enough. 
  2. Perform steps below to measure the power supplied.
    • Measure the voltage input terminal at reader XP-SK32, make sure it around +12Vdc ±10%.
    • If the voltage measured lower than 11Vdc, please change a new power supply to test again. 
    • The specification of regulated power supply for XP-SK32 is +12Vdc, 2A(min).
