Troubleshooting XP-SR200K/ XP-SR1000/ XP-SR40 (General hardware problem)

This article consists of the troubleshooting steps for general hardware problem of XP-SR200K/ XP-SR1000/ XP-SR40 reader.

 Problem
 

Problem with Reader, EM Lock and Door Sensor after connected to the relay board (MAS-RB)/ power lock relay unit (MAS-RB2).

 Symptoms
 
  1. Unable to detect card/ have no response when user flash card.
  2. EM Lock: EM Lock cannot release/ Door is always release even security is On.
  3. Door Sensor: No response when user pressed it.     

 Cause (optional)
 

Probably because of the following causes:

  1. Incorrect wiring connection
  2. No power supply to the reader
  3. Relay board is not functional
  4. Reader faulty
  5. EM Lock faulty
  6. Door Sensor faulty       

 Resolution Summary
 
Please troubleshoot the problem by testing it one by one. 
First, you need to identify which is the root cause of the problem. Follow the following steps.

ยป You may need other functional hardware to perform the troubleshooting steps.

  1. Please check the wiring connection is correct upon the installation.
  2. Check the connection to PC is using Network/ RS485 is correct.
  3. Ensure the TTL reader is correctly connected.
  4. Check the reader is power ON and connected to a power supply with 12Vdc, 3A.
  5. Ensure the reader is connected to a functional relay board (MAS-RB)/ power lock relay unit (MAS-RB2).
 Resolution
 

To solve the issues related, follow the following solution:

For each of following steps, please follow the correct wiring connection diagram.

  1. Connect current relay board (MAS-RB)/ power lock relay (MAS-RB2to other functional reader.
    • If problem is solved, current reader have problem.
    • If problem persists, current relay board is faulty.
  2. If problem persists, connect other functional relay board/ power lock relay to current reader.
    • If problem is solved, current relay board is faulty.
    • If problem persists, current reader have problem.

  1. Connect current EM lock to other functional relay board. 
    • If problem is solved, current relay board is faulty.
    • If problem persists, current EM lock have problem.
  2. If problem persists, connect other functional EM lock to current relay board.
    • If problem is solved, current EM lock have problem.
    • If problem persists, current relay board is faulty.

  1. Connect current door sensor to other functional relay board. 
    • If problem is solved, current relay board is faulty.
    • If problem persists, current door sensor have problem.
  2. If problem persists, connect other functional door sensor to current relay board.
    • If problem is solved, current door sensor have problem.
    • If problem persists, current relay board is faulty. 

After completed the troubleshoot, if hardware was suspected faulty/ not functional, kindly return the product to the Service Center for repairing.
