How to configure Global AntiPassback Controller (GAC)?

This article contains steps to configure the Global AntiPassback Controller (GAC). This feature is to enable AntiPassback function across controller. User must configure the GAC Server (XP-SNET) and GAC Client (XP-M1000i v2/ XP-M2000i) in order to enable the feature at site. 

  • XP-M1000i v2 v6.00 and above, XP-M2000i v6.10 and above, XP-SNET, XP-SNET v4  
  • Software xPortalNet v1.5

Perform steps below to configure the Global Antipassback Controller (GAC).

XP-SNET GAC Setting

  1. Please configure the Dip Switch Setting number to 3.

  2. Reset the controller after change the Dip Switch Setting.

xPortalNet Server Setup

GAC Controller Setup

  1. Login to xPortalNet Server.
  2. Open Controller Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Controller.
  3. Add new controller. 
  4. Please select 'XP-SNET-GAC' for Model No.


  5. Click OK to confirm and save settings.
  6. User shall get this message upon saving changes.


  7. Login to xPortalNet Client to download Door Settings.


GAC Client Controller Setup

  1. Open Controller Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Controller.
  2. Add new controller.

    Controller Model supported for GAC Client: XP-SNET, XP-SNET v4, XP-M2000i v6.10 and above, XP-M1000i v2 v6.00 and above.

  3. Configure the following at Client Global AntiPassback Settings:
    1. Use GAC = Yes
    2. GAC Controller = Select GAC Controller
    3. Other fields may remain as default

  4. Click OK to confirm and save settings.
  5. User shall get this message upon saving.


  6. Login to xPortalNet Client to download Door Settings.


Configure GAC Controller Setup

  1. Open GAC Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › GAC.
  2. The following window will be shown.


  3. Click Add. Please configure the GAC controller setup as following.


    1. Controller Code = Select GAC Controller
    2. Auto Antipassback Reset Mode = Enable, by time (Optional)
      If enable this settings, any card which in violated antipassback state will be automatically reset at the selected time. 
    3. Auto Antipassback Reset Time = Set the time to reset antipassback automatically (Optional)
    4. Other fields may remain as default

  4. Click OK to confirm and save settings.



xPortalNet Client Setup

Enable AntiPassback Feature


  1. Open Controller Setup. Go to Data Setup › System Setting › Controller.
  2. Select GAC Controller › Click modify.


  3. At AntiPassback Function Enabled, select Yes to enable the feature.
  4. Click OK to confirm and save settings.
  5. Repeat this steps for GAC Client Controller.


Configure Door Zone Code

  1. Open Door Setup. Go to Data Setup › System Setting › Door.
  2. Please modify GAC Client Controller's door only. 


  3. Set the AntiPassback Entry Zone Code and AntiPassback Exit Zone Code.
    The small Zone Code must be different in order to apply the GAC feature.

  4. Click OK to confirm and save settings.
  5. Repeat this steps for another Client Controller's Door.


Download Controller Settings

  1. Open Send Door Setting. Go to Device Comm › Send Door Setting.
  2. Select GAC Controller and GAC Client Controller name › Click Send All Settings.



Observe Transaction
    1. Flash card at the GAC Client controller and observe the transaction. 
    2. Then flash the same card at the same reader again.
    3. Software shall return "AntiPB Violation" transaction. 


    4. Notice that there will be SNET GAC with Door??? transaction appear each time you accessing the door. This transaction only appear when using XP-SNET-GAC controller.
    5. To clear/ reset "AntiPB Violation" see small Unable to access door. Get transaction "AntiPB Violation".
    6. Finished.
    7. If small Auto Antipassback Reset Mode is enabled at the GAC, following transaction will be appear during selected reset time. Any card which already violated Antipassback will automatically reset.
