Why XP-M1000i controller always keep beeping every second?

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-M1000i where controller keeps on producing beep sound every 1 second.

 Problem
 

› Reader keeps beeping.       

 Symptoms
 

 When door is closed, the reader keeps produced beep sound.

 Cause (optional)
 

Controller is always beeping may be caused by following reasons:

  1. Door sensor is open while security is on.
  2. Tamper jumper from controller is open.
  3. Test mode (diagnostic mode) is on.    

 Resolution Summary
 
Perform following steps to stop the beeping sound from the controller:

  1. Close the door sensor. Please make sure the door is closed if it is opened.
  2. Go to the controller, check the Tamper Jumper. Close the jumper if it is opened.
  3. Then check the Test Mode (JP6) jumper. Open the jumper if it is closed.
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps:

Close the Door

  1. Close the door sensor. 
  2. Please make sure the door is closed if it is opened.


Close the Tamper Jumper

  1. Go to the controller, check the Tamper Jumper. Close the jumper if it is opened.
  2. Please find the tamper jumper from your controller board as shown below.

  3. Close the jumper accordingly.


Open the Test Mode (JP6) Jumper

  1. Then check the Test Mode (JP6) jumper. Open the jumper if it is closed.
  2. Please find the test mode jumper from your controller board as shown below.
  3. Open the jumper accordingly.
