How to reset the standalone keypad reader to factory default setting? (Coldstart)

This article contains steps to reset (Coldstart) the standalone keypad reader to default setting.

Applies To:

  • XP-SK32, XP-SR200K, XP-SR200KN, XP-SR1000     
 Problem
 

› Failed to perform Coldstart.   

 Symptoms
 

› Failed to proceed Coldstart.
› Memory reader does not clear after Coldstart is completely perform.
› The card installed before Coldstart still can be access.
› Card which going to be deleted cannot be used anymore (Eg.: Broken/ faulty/ missing).   

 Cause (optional)
 

› Reader is not functioned properly.       

 Resolution Summary
 
› Check the wiring connection is correct.
› To perform Coldstart, during reader is power up, press and hold the exit button for 2 seconds.
 
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps below in order to resolve your issue.

› Check the wiring connection is correct.
› To perform a Coldstart, please follow the steps below:

  1. Switch off the power for the reader.
  2. Upon switching on the reader, it will enter to the power up mode. The Red LED will be blinking for 10 seconds.
  3. During this moment, press the exit button for 2 seconds to Coldstart the system.
  4. The reader will be reset to factory default setting and all the card user will be clear from the reader.
