How to configure car park application using XP-M2000i?

This article contains steps to configure the car park application using XP-M2000i.

 Problem
 

› How to configure barrier gate correctly?  

       
 Symptoms
 

 Barrier loop is not up when flash card. 

         
 Cause (optional)
 

 Incorrect xPortal Server or xPortal Client setup.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

 Make sure the configuration setup is properly configured.
 Make sure to send controller settings after finished the configuration at xPortal Server and xPortal Client. 


 Make sure the hardware configuration is correct.

 Resolution
 

Please perform steps below to configure barrier gate.

Connection Setup

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> Connection Setup.
  2. Connection Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
  3. Add your preferred connection either Direct Serial Port or LAN connection.

  4. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  5. Click Close to close Connection Setup window.



Controller Setup

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Controller.
  2. Controller Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
  3. Refer following setup:

  4. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  5. Click Close to close Controller Setup window.



Door Setup (Barrier)

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Door.
  2. Door Setup window will pop out.
  3. Click Add to add the first barrier.
  4. Refer the following setup to set it as entry barrier:

  5. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  6. Click Add to add the second barrier.
  7. Refer the following setup to set it as exit barrier:

  8. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  9. Click Close to close Door Setup window.

    » If using third-party reader, please set Reader Type correctly.



Alarm Panel Setup

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Alarm Controller.
  2. Alarm Panel Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
  3. Refer following setup:

  4. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  5. Click Close to close Alarm Panel Setup window.



Input Setup (Barrier Loop)

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Input.
  2. Input Setup window will appear.
  3. Click Add to add the first input.
  4. Refer following setup:


  5. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  6. Click Add to the second input.
  7. Refer following setup:


  8. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  9. Click Close to close Input Setup window.



Output Setup (Barrier Reader Control)

  1. At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Output.
  2. Click Add to add the first output.
  3. Refer following setup:


  4. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  5. Click Add to add the second output.
  6. Refer following setup:


  7. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  8. Click Close to close Output Setup window.

  1. At xPortal Client, go to Data Setup> System Setting> Input.
  2. Input Setup window will pop out.
  3. Double-click the first input to modify its settings.
  4. Modify the settings as shown below:

  5. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  6. Repeat step 3 until step 5 for another input(s).
  7. Click Close to close Input Setup window.

  1. At xPortal Client, go to Data Setup> System Setting> Output.
  2. Output Setup window will pop out.
  3. Double-click the first output to modify its settings.
  4. Ensure that the settings are as the following setup:

  5. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  6. Repeat step 3 until step 5 for another output(s).
  7. Click Close to close Output Setup window.



Send Controller Settings

  1. At xPortal Client, go to Device Comm> Send Door Setting> Select controller(s).
  2. Click Send All in order for all settings to take effect.




Hardware Configuration


» For high resolution image, please download the attached wiring diagram at the end of this article.


» Maximum distance between controller and readers is 50 feet. Any installation that exceeds the recommended maximum distance will affect the reader operation.

Following is the application flow to operate Barrier 1, Reader 1, Barrier Loop 1 and Reader Control 1 as shown in
