How to configure the XP-SNET controller using network connection?

This article contains steps to setup the network connection for XP-SNET controller. The communication shall up between the controller and the xPortal software after completed the setup.

 Resolution Summary
 

Configuration setup: 

Make sure wiring connection is correct before configure the software.

  1. Configure the Network Setting from the Web Diagnostic.    
  2. Configure the Connection, Controller and Door setup from the xPortalNet Server.
  3. Observe the Device Status from the Device List to confirm communication is Up between controller and software.

 Resolution
 

Please follow the following steps to configure network connection for XP-SNET controller: 

Check the wiring connection first before proceed. See small Wiring connection diagram for XP-SNET.

Step 1: Assign unique IP address to controller

  1. Check for available IP address to be assign to the controller.
  2. Open Web Diagnostics and configure the Network Setting.

    Step 2: Configure controller at xPortalNet Server

    1. Login to xPortalNet Server.
    2. Configure the Connection, Controller and Door setup.
    Connection Setup

    1. Add new connection. 
    2. Open Connection Setup. Go to Server Admin › Connection Setup.
    3. Fill up the fields boxed in red color.
    4. Remote IP Address is the controller's IP Address (Configured at Web Diagnostic › Network Setting › IP Address)

    5. Click OK to confirm and save the settings.


    Controller Setup

    1. Add new controller. 
    2. Open Controller Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Controller.


    3. Select the correct small Connectionsmall Unit No, Model No and the Network Type.
    4. Click OK to confirm and save the settings.


    Door Setup

    1. Add new door. (Entry and Exit included for each door)
    2. Open Door Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Door.
    3. Set the correct Unit No. See small How to configure address setting for XP-SNET reader?

      Eg: Directly connect to (CON32 as entry, CON33 as exit)


      Connected to MK800:


    4. Click OK to confirm and save the settings.


    Device List

    1. The software will be reloaded after saving each setup. Observe the Device List. 
    2. The controller and door status should already "Up".

    You have completed the setup at xPortal Server.
