I have just installed a new XP-GT/ XP-GTR controller but it shown down in Device List (Lock is not respond – Downlink failed)

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-GT/ XP-GTR where the door lock is not responding (Downlink Failed).

Applies To:

XP-GT1200L, XP-GT3200L, XP-GT1200LABX, XP-GT3200LABX, XP-GT3200LE, XP-GT3200LCPX, XP-GT500LE, XP-GTR1200L, XP-GTR3200L

Problem

› No communication between relay board and controller.

Symptoms

› Downlink icon is not indicated on controller’s screen.
› Lock does not release after flash a valid card.

Cause (optional)

› Relay board is faulty.
› Controller’s downlink communication (Error or part faulty).
› Incorrect wiring connection.

Controller	Causes
XP-GT3200L	1. DC+ and DC- on controller are not connected to the C+ and C- on MAS-RBT. » 1 controller to MAS-RBT connection 2. C+ C- (entry) and/ or DC+ DC- (exit) on MAS-RBT are not connected to DC+ DC- on controller. » 2 controllers to MAS-RBT connection 3. J2 on MAS-RBT is shorted/ closed.
XP-GTR1200L	1. DC+ DC- on controller are not connected to the RB+ RB- on MAS-RBU. 2. J2 on MAS-RBU is open.

Controller

Causes

XP-GT3200L

1. DC+ and DC- on controller are not connected to the C+ and C- on MAS-RBT.
» 1 controller to MAS-RBT connection

2. C+ C- (entry) and/ or DC+ DC- (exit) on MAS-RBT are not connected to DC+ DC- on controller.
» 2 controllers to MAS-RBT connection

3. J2 on MAS-RBT is shorted/ closed.

XP-GTR1200L

1. DC+ DC- on controller are not connected to the RB+ RB- on MAS-RBU.
2. J2 on MAS-RBU is open.

Resolution Summary

Check the wiring connection from the relay board to the controller is correct.
Check the Jumper J2 setting from the relay board:

MAS-RBT - Open condition (Applicable to XP-GT3200L only).
MAS-RBU - Close condition (Applicable to XP-GTR1200L only).

Check the relay board and controller's downlink is working.

Resolution

Please complete the following steps in order to resolve the issue.

For high resolution image, please download the attached wiring diagram at the end of this article.

Make sure wiring from relay board to controller is correct.

XP-GT3200L (1 controller to MAS-RBT)

XP-GT3200L (2 controllers to MAS-RBT)

XP-GTR1200L

Ensure only Jumper J2 on MAS-RBU is shorted while MAS-RBT is open.

MAS-RBU - Close condition

Make sure controller and relay board in use are working fine.

Perform this step if you have other functional controller and/ or relay board.

Connect current relay board to other functional controller. Perform "Step 1: Check Wiring Connection" above.

If problem is solved, current controller’s downlink have problem.
If problem persists, current relay board is faulty.

Connect other functional relay board to current controller. Perform "Step 1: Check Wiring Connection" above.

If problem is solved, current relay board is faulty.
If problem persists, current controller’s downlink have problem.
