After enter the 4 digit number of Auto PIN at XP-SK32, the EM Lock does not release?

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-SK32 where the door is not released even after enter valid Auto PIN number.

Applies To:

 Problem
 

 The door cannot be opened after enter 4 digit Auto PIN number.      

         
 Symptoms
 
 The EM Lock does not release after Auto PIN is entered.

 The EM Lock does not release after press push button.
 Reader will respond with 1 longer beep sound when 4 digit Auto PIN is pressed.
 Green LED on the reader will turn ON after the 4 digit Auto PIN is pressed.

         
 Cause (optional)
 
 The wiring connection of EM Lock is incorrect.
 EM Lock faulty.
 Door sensor faulty.
 Reader faulty.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

Resolution 1:
› Make sure the AutoPIN number has been programmed to the reader.

Resolution 2:
 Make sure the wiring connection is correct.
 Make sure the reader is not in the Programming Mode.

Resolution 3:
 Enable the AutoPIN mode.
 Set the Lock Release Time to default value.

Resolution 4:
 Direct short wire jumper from terminal PB to 0V.

Please complete the following steps below in order to resolve your issue.

Resolution 1:

  1. Make sure the AutoPIN has been programmed to the reader. 
  2. See AA-00254 to learn how to add AutoPIN number using XP-SK32 reader.



Resolution 2:

  1. Make sure the wiring connection is correct. 
    1. See AA-00243 to learn how to check the wiring connection.

  2. Make sure the reader is not in the Programming Mode.
    1. Please ensure the Green LED is turn off.


Resolution 3:

  1. When reader detecting a valid AutoPIN which is valid access, 
    1. Green LED will be turn on and the EM Lock should be released.

  2. If the AutoPIN number is incorrect or invalid number, 
    1. The Red LED will be blinking and 3 beeps will be produced from the reader.

  3. If the reader does not have any respond with beep sound after enter the 4 digit AutoPIN number, please perform steps below:
    1. Enter to Programming Mode.
    2. Press "61" and press "1" to enable the AutoPIN mode.
    3. Press "#" to confirm and exit from Programming Mode.

  4. If problem persist, adjust the Lock Release Time to 10 sec.
    1. Enter to the Programming Mode to set Lock Release Time to 10 sec (default).
    2. Press "72" and enter "10".
    3. Press "#" to confirm and exit from operation.



Resolution 4:

  1. Press the Exit Button to check whether the EM Lock can be released. 
  2. If EM Lock is not released, use a short wire jumper to connect direct from terminal PB to 0V.
    1. Make sure the door can be opened when pressing Push button, the Green LED on the reader is turned ON.
    2. If door is not released, EM Lock faulty.
