Why the standalone reader keeps on produced beeping sound when door is closed?

This article contains steps to fix the problem where the standalone reader keeps on producing beep sound even when the door is closed.

 Problem
 

› Reader keeps beeping.        

         
 Symptoms
 
 When door is closed, the reader keeps produced beep sound.

         
 Cause (optional)
 
 Door Sensor (Magnetic Contact) is not properly connected to terminal DS and 0V.
 Reader faulty.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

 Make sure the wiring connection is correct.
 Direct short wire jumper from terminal DS to 0V.

         
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps below in order to resolve your issue. 

  1. Please make sure the wiring connection is correct.
  2. If problem persist, use a short wire jumper to connect directly from terminal DS to 0V.
    1. Please switch off the reader when connecting the wire jumper. 

  3. If problem persist, reader faulty.
