Why the EM Lock does not release when exit button is pressed? Using XP-SK32 reader

This article contains steps to fix the problem of XP-SK32 reader where the door does not released even after the exit button has been pressed.

 Problem
 

› Cannot open door after exit button is pressed.          

         
 Symptoms
 
› After pressing exit button, door cannot be opened. However, door can be opened after flash card. 
› Door sensor does not beeping when door is open for long period time.
› XP-SK32 reader does not produce 1 beep when exit button is pressed.
› LED on the MAS-RB does not ON when exit button is pressed.

         
 Cause (optional)
 
› Push button does not connected correctly.
› Relay board (MAS-RB) faulty.
› Reader faulty.
› EM Lock faulty.
› Push button faulty.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

Resolution 1:
› Make sure the wiring connection is correct.

Resolution 2:
› Set the Lock Release Time to default value.

Resolution 3:
› Direct short wire jumper from terminal PB to 0V. 

         
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps below in order to resolve your issue. 

Resolution 1:

  1. Please make sure the wiring connection is correct. 
  2. See AA-00243 to learn how to check the wiring connection.

Resolution 2:

  1. Enter to the Programming Mode to set Lock Release Time to 10 sec (default).
  2. Press "72" and enter "10".
  3. Press "#" to confirm and exit from operation.

Resolution 3:

  1. If problem persist, use a short wire jumper to connect direct from terminal PB to 0V.
  2. Make sure reader will beep once when the terminal PB to 0V is shorted.
  3. Make sure red LED on the MAS-RB is turn ON when terminal PB to 0V is shorted.
