XP-M2000i controller is not up after the correct software configuration has been setup

This article contains steps to solve the problem with XP-M2000i network connection "Down".

Applies To:

  • XP-M2000i
  • Software xPortal2005 v1.3, xPortalNet, xPortal3000
 Problem
 

 Controller down.
 No communication between controller and software.

 Symptoms
 

 Controller status showing "Down" from the Device List at the xPortal software.
 No transaction shown in the software.
 Yellow LED at network cable did not blinking.
 The controller still cannot uplink to software, but got pinging reply.

 Cause (optional)
 

 Network cable is not connected properly to the LAN socket and not working properly.
 Incorrect network setting was configured.

 Resolution Summary
 
    If any of the above symptoms occurs, perform following steps:

  1. Check the wiring connection of network cable from the controller to the LAN socket is correct then, ensure the cable is working fine. 
  2. Configure the controller's network setting from the Web Diagnostic correctly.
  3. Configure the network setting from the xPortal Server correctly.
 Resolution
 

Perform steps below to solve the network connection problem above:

  1. Check the wiring connection of the controller.
