This article contains steps to use Card Serial No (Mifare Card).

- Software xPortal3000
Resolution Summary ResolutionPerform steps below before can use the Card Serial Number (Mifare Card).
Pre-requisite: Please connect the programming reader to the PC before proceed. See 
Wiring Guideline for Programming Reader (Program Mifare Card).
This section will guide how to configure the system properties before using Mifare Card’s Serial No.
- Run xPortal3000 Client.
- Click on Control Panel › Open the System Properties.
- The following window will be shown.
- Click on Modify button followed by Mifare Card Options tab.
- The following window will be shown.
- Select Read Mode: Card Serial No.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Step 2 - Setup Mifare Card Programming
This section will guide how to setup reader settings and establish connection with the Programming Reader.
Skip this step if not using Programming Reader.
- Open Staff Records.
- Please check the Programming Reader is correctly plugged in to the PC.
- Find the Mifare Card Programming setting as shown below:
- Click on Reader Settings to set the Serial Port number. The following window will be shown.
- Select the Serial Port number where the Programming Reader is plugged in.The Reader Settings is only to be configured once.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Step 3 - Setup Staff Records
This section will guide how to add staff records for Mifare Card user.
- Click Add button to add new staff records.
- Set Token Type to Proximity/ Mifare Card.
- Put the Mifare card on the Programming Reader and click the Find button to retrieve the Card Serial No.
- The information of the card will be shown as below. Click OK.
- Notice that the Serial No. of the card will be populated into the Card No. textbox.
Programming Reader is not connected to the PC?
- Flash card to the Reader and get the Card Serial No. from the "Latest Event List".
- Enter the Card Serial No. to the Card No. textbox
- Use Scan List function in the staff records to add the Card No.
- Fill up all other necessary fields then click OK to save the changes.
Step 4 - Read Card No.
This section will guide how to read the Mifare Card No.
- Put Mifare card on the Programming Reader.
- Open Mifare Card Programming › Click Read Card.
- The staff record of the Card No. shall be highlighted upon user click Read Card.
- At the same time, the information of the card will be shown as below.
- The Card No. has successfully enrolled.
- Finished.
