Using MOXA (MV28) is another way of uplink communication between controller and software. This device can be supported by XP-M1000x and XP-M1000i controller.
By connecting with MV28, user will be able to use LAN (Local Area Connection) with XP-M1000x controller which only support Serial Port Connection.
Prior to the configuration, please check the MV28 is working fine and the network cable to connect is in good condition.
During the NPort's Web Console and Server Setup configuration, please make sure both Server's IP Address configured is similar.
Remember to assign unique IP Address for the controller to avoid connection's conflict with other device on the same network.

Please perform steps below to configure MV28.
Make sure the MV28 is properly connected.
Steps
Description
Power on the MV28
› Check theLED (Ready) is turning on when power on
› If the LED is off when power on, suspect the power cable ofMV28 faulty
Tighten plugged the Network cable into the MV28 & network router/ switches
› Check the status indication(Link) on the MV28
› It will bealways blinking
Connect the Serial Port properly from controller to the MV28
› Check the Green (C+) & White (C-) wire is connected fromSerial Portto theRS485 Uplinkconnection at the XP-M1000x controller
› Check the status indication(Tx/Rx) on the MV28. It will be always blinking
Make sure the setting in the MV28 unit is correct.
Open your browser. Enter the default MV28’s IP Address. (192.168.127.254)
If the MV28’s IP Address has been changed, please ask your administrator for the new IP Address.
Setup the following configuration accordingly:
Network Settings
Click the Network Setting from the Main Menu.

Run Command Prompt window and type ipconfig to check the Server PC’s configuration.
Then click Submit to confirm and save the changes.
Serial Settings
Click the Serial Settings › Port 1from the Main Menu.
Make sure the serial settings is similar as shown from window below.

Operating Settings
Click the Operating Settings › Port 1from the Main Menu.

› Set Begin and End similar to the Server PC's IP Address
› Set the Port number similar to the Software Port Number

Must be similar to the Software Port Number
Then click Submit to confirm and save the changes.
Make sure the Setup in Server’s PC is correct.
Login to xPortal Server and configure following setup.
Make sure controller is already connected to the PC.
Connection Setup
Open Connection Setup. Go to Server Admin › Connection Setup.
Add one connection as following.
Set the Remote IP Address similar to the IP Address set at Network Settings from NPort's Web Console.
Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
Controller Setup
Open Controller Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Controller.
Add one controller as following.
Select the Connection, Model No and Network Type.
Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
Door Setup
Open Door Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Door.
Add one door as following.
Set the Unit No to 0 as this controller is single-door controller.
Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
Device List
Open Device List from Main Menu.
The software will be reloaded after saving each configuration.
Observe the Controller and Door Status.
The Status should be "Up".
