Unable to access door using Auto PIN number

This article contains steps to use the Auto PIN number using XP-M1000x.

 Problem
 

› Enter Auto PIN number but cannot access the door.

 Symptoms
 

› Get "Invalid PIN Access" transaction at the software when enter Auto PIN number at the reader.

› "AutoPin Disabled" shown at the LCD screen after enter the correct Auto PIN number.
› "Wrong PIN!" shown at the LCD screen after enter incorrect
Auto PIN number.
   
 Cause (optional)
 

Auto PIN Mode is turned OFF.
Auto PIN number is yet to be added at the xPortal Client software. 

 Resolution Summary
 
AutoPin Mode
  • Description: AutoPin Mode enable or disable. Enable will allow user to gain access by keying in pre-programmed pin numbers only.
  • Value: ON, OFF.
  • Default value: ON.

Step 1: Door Parameter setting
 Enter programming mode to enable the AutoPin Mode.

Step 2: AutoPIN number setup
 Add the Auto PIN number from the controller.
› If you're using standalone controller, please add the AutoPIN number from the controller. Otherwise, add from the software.

 Resolution
 
Perform steps below to enable the AutoPin Mode.

In this section contain steps to enable the AutoPin mode.

  1. Enter Programming Menu.
  2. Press '1' for Sys menu.
  3. Press '2' for Door Para. The screen below will be displayed:

  4. Edit the values for the item displayed by keying in a new value or pressing '0' to toggle between settings. 
  5. Press '#' to proceed to the next item.
  6. Continue doing this until the Save Changes page is displayed. 
  7. Press '#' to save changes and exit from the Door Parameter setting.
    The changes will not be saved if the configuration is interrupted midway.

In this section contains 2 steps to add the AutoPIN number. If you are using standalone controller, please add the AutoPIN number from the controller. Otherwise, add from the software.

Add the AutoPIN number from the controller

  1. Enter Programming Menu.
  2. Press '2' for DB menu.
  3. Press '4' for AutoPIN. The screen as below will be shown:
  4. Enter two digits AutoPIN location number (from 01 to 10) and press '#' to proceed to next screen.

  5. Enter the desired four digits AutoPIN number. 
  6. Entering '0000' will erase previously programmed AutoPIN number. 
  7. Press '#' to proceed to next screen.

  8. Enter two digits Time Zone number for the AutoPIN. This Time Zone number will determine when the AutoPIN number can be used. Each set of AutoPIN number has its own Time Zone number. After selecting the desired Time Zone number, press '#' to proceed to next screen.

    Time Zone 00 (No Access) and Time Zone 01 (Free Access) are defaults Time Zone. 

  9. Press '#' to confirm saving changes.

  10. Repeat steps 4 to 9 for the next set of AutoPIN.
  11. Press '*' when finished editing AutoPIN settings and return to DB menu.

  12. Finished.

Add the AutoPIN number from the software

  1. Login to xPortal Client software.
  2. Open Controller. Go to Data Setup › System Setting › Controller › Modify.
  3. Enter the Auto PIN number. You have 10 available slots for Auto PIN.


  4. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
  5. Enter the newly added Auto PIN at the keypad reader and you may access the door. (Eg. Enter 2222)
  6. "Valid PIN Access" transaction will be shown.

  7. Finished.
