› How to configure barrier gate correctly?
› Barrier loop is not up when flash card.
› Incorrect xPortal Server or xPortal Client setup.
› Make sure the configuration setup is properly configured.
› Make sure to send controller settings after finished the configuration at xPortal Server and xPortal Client.
› Make sure the hardware configuration is correct.
› See Application Flow to operate the barrier as configured.
Please perform steps below to configure barrier gate.
Connection Setup
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> Connection Setup.
- Connection Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
- Add your preferred connection either Direct Serial Port or LAN connection.
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Connection Setup window.
Controller Setup
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Controller.
- Controller Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Controller Setup window.
Door Setup (Barrier)
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Door.
- Door Setup window will pop out.
- Click Add to add the first barrier.
- Refer the following setup to set it as entry barrier:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Add to add the second barrier.
- Refer the following setup to set it as exit barrier:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Door Setup window.
» If using third-party reader, please set Reader Type correctly.
Alarm Panel Setup
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Alarm Controller.
- Alarm Panel Setup window will pop out. Click Add.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Alarm Panel Setup window.
Input Setup (Barrier Loop)
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Input.
- Input Setup window will appear.
- Click Add to add the first input.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Add to the second input.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Input Setup window.
Output Setup (Barrier Reader Control)
- At xPortal Server, go to Server Admin> System Device Setup> Output.
- Click Add to add the first output.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Add to add the second output.
- Refer following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Click Close to close Output Setup window.
- At xPortal Client, go to Data Setup> System Setting> Input.
- Input Setup window will pop out.
- Double-click the first input to modify its settings.
- Modify the settings as shown below:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Repeat step 3 until step 5 for another input(s).
- Click Close to close Input Setup window.
- At xPortal Client, go to Data Setup> System Setting> Output.
- Output Setup window will pop out.
- Double-click the first output to modify its settings.
- Ensure that the settings are as the following setup:
- Click OK to confirm and save the changes.
- Repeat step 3 until step 5 for another output(s).
- Click Close to close Output Setup window.
Send Controller Settings
- At xPortal Client, go to Device Comm> Send Door Setting> Select controller(s).
- Click Send All in order for all settings to take effect.
Hardware Configuration
» For high resolution image, please download the attached wiring diagram at the end of this article.
» Maximum distance between controller and readers is 50 feet. Any installation that exceeds the recommended maximum distance will affect the reader operation.
