How to configure the XP-CPRO controller at Server Setup?

This article contains steps to add the XP-CPRO controller at the xPortal Server.

 Resolution Summary
 
Perform steps below to install XP-CPRO using xPortal software:

  1. Check the wiring connection before configure the Server Setup at xPortal software.

  2. Configure the software:
    1. Connection Setup
    2. Controller Setup
    3. Door Setup

  3. Verify the configuration:
    1. Controller Status
    2. Door Status
    3. Send Door Settings

Please complete the following steps:

Wiring Connection

  1. Check the wiring connection before configure the Server Setup at xPortal software.
  2. See small Wiring connection diagram for XP-CPRO.



Server Setup

Connection Setup
Check the Comm Port No. where the MCI is connected from the PC’s Device Manager.

  1. Run Windows Device ManagerRight-click at My Computer › Select "Manage".


  2. Computer Management Window will pop out. Select "Device Manager" › Select "Ports (COM & LPT)".
  3. If the MCI is directly connected to Server PC through CPU’s serial port (RS232 cable)


    If the MCI is connected to Server PC using USB-to-Serial port (RS485 cable)



    *The COM Port No may be different. It is according to the user's PC Comm Port No where the MCI is plugged in.

Add connection at Connection Setup from the xPortalNet Server.  

  1. Run xPortal Server software.
  2. Open Connection Setup. Go to Server Admin › Connection Setup.
  3. Add one connection as shown below:

    Ensure that the Comm No. selected is similar to the small MCI's Comm Port No. connected.
  4. Click OK to confirm and save changes.


Controller Setup

  1. Open Controller Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Controller.
  2. Add one controller as shown below.

    1. Connection: Select the connection name that is created in step small Connection Setup.
    2. Unit No: Set according to the controller's DIP Switch Address Setting.
    3. Model No: XP-CPRO model
    4. Network Type: Direct Serial Port

  3. Click OK to confirm and save changes.

Door Setup

  1. Open Door Setup. Go to Server Admin › System Device Setup › Door.
  2. Add one door as shown below. 

    1. Controller: Select the controller name that is created in step small Controller Setup.
    2. Unit No: Set according to the MK800 (Reader Interface) Jumper Address Setting.

  3. Click OK to confirm and save changes.


Verify the configuration


Controller Status

  1. The newly added controller will be shown in the Device List.
  2. Verify the status of the controller is already "Up". 


Door Status

  1. The newly added door will be shown in the Device List.
  2. Verify the status of the door is already "Up". 


Send Door Settings

  1. Run xPortal Client software. 
  2. Send Door SettingGo to Device Comm › Send Door Setting › Select controller › Click Send All Settings.
  3. The setting shall be successfully downloaded to the controller.

    im going to order/install a microengine door access xp-m1000x, but i want to know what are my computer system version to comply with????
