I have just installed a new controller (XP-M1000x) but the EM Lock does not released/ cannot lock

EM-Lock locked status depends on the communication between the relay board (MAS-RBU) and the controller. This article contains steps to fix the problem EM-Lock does not release or cannot lock when using XP-M1000x.

 Problem
 

 No communication between relay board and controller.   

       
 Symptoms
 

 The LCD displays shown an exclamation mark (!) as below:

 EM Lock does not release after flash a valid card.
 EM Lock always release.
 The Blue LED at the controller is always turn on. "Security Off" is display on the LCD screen:

         
 Cause (optional)
 

 Incorrect jumper J2 setting on MAS-RBU.
 1 controller to MAS-RBU connection: 

  • RB+ and RB- on MAS-RBU are not connected to the C+ and C- on controller.
  • RB+ or RB- on MAS-RBU are connected to the wrong C+ and C- controller.

 Controller’s downlink communication, error or part faulty.  
 Relay board (MAS-RBU) is faulty.
 Auto Lock Release Time Zone is set to 01 (All Access) which is automatically released at all time.
 Security status is OFF.

         
 Resolution Summary
 

Resolution 1:
› Make sure the jumper J2 at the MAS-RBU is in open condition and the wiring connection is correct.

Resolution 2:
› Make sure the controller and relay board are working fine. 

Resolution 3:
› Make sure the Auto Lock Release Time Zone is not activated. 

Resolution 4:
› Make sure the security status is ON.

         
 Resolution
 

Please complete the following steps in order to resolve the issue.

Resolution 1:

› Ensure the jumper J2 is in open condition. Make sure wiring connection from relay board to controller is correct.

Resolution 2:

Make sure controller and relay board in use are working fine.
» Perform this step if you have other functional controller and/ or relay board.

  1. Connect current relay board to other functional controller. Perform Resolution 1 above.
    • If problem is solved, current controller's downlink have problem.
    • If problem persists, current relay board is faulty.

  2. Connect other functional relay board to current controller. Perform Resolution 1 above.
    • If problem is solved, current relay board is faulty.
    • If problem persists, current controller's downlink have problem.


Resolution 3:


Make sure the Auto Lock Release Time Zone is not activated.
» If you are not connected with the software, you may update the setting from the controller directly.


At the controller:


  1. Enter the Programming Mode.
  2. Press '1' for Sys menu.
  3. Press '2' for Door Para. This will bring us to the Door Parameter Setting screen.
  4. Press '#' to proceed to next screen. 
  5. At ALRTz screen, make sure the value is set to 00 (No Access). 


  6. The default value is "00". Press '#' to confirm and proceed to the next screen.
  7. Save the settings and reset the controller.    

At the software:

  1. Login to xPortal Client.
  2. Open Door Setup. (Go to Data Setup › System Setting › Door)
  3. Modify your controller door.


  4. At Auto Lock Release TZ, select Time Zone 000.
  5. Click OK to confirm and save the changes.


Resolution 4:

Make sure the security status is ON.
» If you are not connected with the software, you may update the setting from the controller directly.


At the controller:


  1. Enter the Programming Mode.
  2. Press '1' for Sys menu.
  3. Press '2' for Door Para. This will bring us to the Door Parameter Setting screen.
  4. Press '#' to proceed to next screen. 
  5. At Security screen, make sure the value is set to ON.


  6. The default value is "ON". Press '#' to confirm and proceed to the next screen.
  7. Save the settings and reset the controller.    

At the software:

  1. Login to xPortal Client.
  2. Open Send Door Command. (Go to Device Comm › Send Door Command)
  3. Select your controller and click on Security On.


  4. Make sure the Security status shown from the Device List is "Y" after command sent.
